Opportunity Details

Wampum Lake Woods- Stewardship volunteer Days

Description

The sandy soil of Wampum Lake supports unique plant life such as skunk cabbage and cinnamon ferns. Loons, eagles and osprey stop over at the preserve on their annual migration south in fall. Natural springs create wet, marshy areas in the woods. Help us to remove invasive plants that are crowding this ecosystem. We'll cut and remove invasive brush in the winter or pull invasive plants in the spring. Tools, supplies, and training will be provided.

This opportunity is for small groups, if you like to bring out your group of 5-10 individuals, please contact the Site Steward.
