Nature Ambassador- Outreach

Description

Do you love the Forest Preserves so much that you just want to tell everyone about them? Become a Nature Ambassador Outreach Volunteer and represent the Forest Preserves at community events and internal Forest Preserve events. Convey information about Forest Preserves programs and opportunities by handing out informational materials, answering basic questions and signing people up for the Forest Way newsletter. Training will be provided.

Requirements & Documents
Requirements

* Be comfortable talking with the public at events in the community or Forest Preserves
* Participate in training & regular updates about activities/resources within preserves from FPCC and partners
* Communicate with Community Outreach staff and partners about specific events, schedules, tabling event information bin, and number of people engaged
* Ability to pick up outreach supplies
* Be 18 years or older
* Criminal background check required

Required Training
* Attend at least 3 different Forest Preserves offerings (i.e. nature center visit, stewardship workday, special event)
* Attend the Outreach Volunteer Training
* Work with FPCC staff at tabling events until ready to table on own
