Help Out at St Giles Food Pantry
St Giles Trust

Description

The St Giles Pantry has been working tirelessly to limit the impact of Covid-19 on our vulnerable clients and those facing food poverty by providing healthy, nutritious fresh food each week for disadvantaged individuals and enabling families and clients to survive during this crisis. Unlike a food bank, this highly empowering model focuses on fresh and healthy food, ensuring that regardless of circumstances people can prioritise health and nutrition. Demand has grown week on week with the small team now delivering across 18 London boroughs, feeding 650 vulnerable people every week.

In September, the Pantry will be relocating to a permanent site in Camberwell to continue operations and supporting vulnerable clients and local residents. We have a volunteering opportunity to support the team with the set-up of this new site and with the packing and distribution of food parcels.

To meet social distancing guidelines, we can incorporate two volunteers at once and realistically will need people for 3-4 hours each day. Please select the day you prefer to volunteer and we will confirm exact times closer to the time to ensure volunteers enjoy the experience and come when help is most needed.

In order to minimise risk, we kindly ask that only IICF board and committee members volunteer for this project.
