A clean neighborhood is a beautiful one! Adopt-A-Spot partners with the Department of Public Works and the residents and merchants in your local community.
This program is designed for individuals, community groups, businesses, churches, schools and other organizations who want to maintain a clean neighborhood. Volunteers of all ages, including school age children under the supervision of an adult, come together to remove litter from the streets, sidewalks, and storm drain openings.
Adopted areas include County roads, sidewalks, storm drain inlets, gutters, and County-owned vacant land. Removal of debris prevents pollution from reaching our creeks, bays and ocean and is particularly important during winter storms to ensure proper storm water runoff and to help prevent localized flooding.
If you are interested in adopting an area or learning more about becoming a volunteer or a team leader, please contact Angela Clapp at 415-473-3202 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
