Almonte Homework Help Tutors  Almonte Library

Description

Almonte is seeking volunteers (13 and older) to tutor K-6 grade studentswith their homework in various school subjects. Tutors will show up on alternating Wednesdsays and Tuesdays each month from 5:00-7:00 pm and help students on a first come, first serve basis. Tutors may also help elementary school students with Reading on Saturdays from 10:00 am-12:00 pm.

Additional Info: Alternating Wednesdays & Tuesdays from September 5, 2018 - May 1, 2019
5:00-7:00 pm.
Saturdays Starting September 1, 2018.

Description

We are seeking friendly, reliable volunteers to assist Ralph Ellison staff in providing a mid-day meal to school-age children in conjunction with the Regional Food Bank and assist Library Staff with planned activities. The ideal volunteer has a positive attitude, enjoys working with children and being part of a team.

After training, responsibilities include greeting guests, physically helping with setting up, counting and distributing prepared meals, light cleaning of tables and chairs after meal, and assisting with crafts, story time or other child-centered activities planned by library staff.

Benefits include meeting other individuals with shared interests and concerns and learning about library resources!

Additional Info: This opportunity will occur during regularly scheduled Oklahoma City Public School breaks, Monday through Friday between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM.

Ralph Ellison Tutors  Ralph Ellison Library

Description

Have a free hour each week? Help a child succeed in school! We ask that tutors give one hour each week to help a local child complete and better understand their homework. Being an effective tutor requires a little knowledge and lot of patience. Our tutors choose a convenient time to meet up with local kids during regular library hours. Most of the kids needing a little extra help are elementary and jr. high school aged.

Additional Info: This program is from the beginning of August through the end of May.

We need therapy dogs! You can provide an encouraging, non-judgmental audience for young readers by listening to stories while receiving head pats and belly rubs! Sign up today!

Additional Info: Must be Certified. Need someone to volunteer one Tuesday evening a month from 6:30-7:30 pm. Usually the third Tuesday but it varies. Also interested in recruiting subs for our Reading to Dogs sessions.
