2018 Synergy Teen Volunteer Program - Bladensburg Waterfront Park 

The award winning Synergy Teen Volunteer Program gives teens ages 13-17 opportunities to provide stewardship of our natural, cultural, and historical resources through their participation in various service learning projects. Adopt-A-Park Partner - Governor Bridge Natural Area 

Groups or individuals can adopt a number of natural area parks throughout Prince George's County. Responsibilities may include monitoring of nest boxes for birds and maintaining detailed records, conducting wildlife and plant surveys, constructing and installing wildlife nesting boxes, clean-ups, reporting park needs, and various other environmental projects.  Groups are recognized with a sign at their adopted park. Docent - Museum at Riversdale House 

The museum docent, ages 18 and up, is responsible for leading tours for groups and individuals who visit Riversdale, the Federal period home of George Calvert and Rosalie Stier Calvert. Docents are needed during regular museum hours on Fridays and Sundays and for special events. Shifts are flexible. Volunteers must have an interest and enthusiasm for history. Training sessions are provided throughout the year.

Garden Aide - Riversdale 

Volunteers, ages 18 and up, are needed to assist the head gardener in planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, etc. Riversdale is home to a beautiful garden abundant in flowers, fruits, vegetables, and herbs. This is a fun opportunity to learn about gardening on the grounds of a restored, early 19th century manor house. Scheduling is flexible on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Garden aide positions are also available on Sundays and for special events. Garden aides work hand in hand with the Kitchen Guild and Riversdale's head gardener to interpret our kitchen and historical gardens.
