Fruit picking for The Felix Project
The Felix Project

Description

This autumn, The Felix Project have been given the fantastic opportunity to pick apples and pears at Laurel Tree Farm in Eridge, East Sussex.

Last year, thanks to over 1,000 amazing volunteers, we rescued just over 100 tonnes of fruit for a farm in Kent, most of which was redistributed to our community organisations across London. The last 36 tonnes were picked for juice, and we made 22,000 bottles of our very own Felix Project apple juice delivered to our charities and schools.

This year we need picking power once again, this time in East Sussex. We are looking for up to 20 volunteers per organisation each day (teams of 5, 10 or 15 also welcome) - Mon/Tues/Thur/Fri. Harvest and weather permitting, we plan to pick as follows:
Dates: Monday 23 Sept Friday 1 Nov
Times: 9.30am -3.00pm
Parking: Yes

Volunteers will need to commit to a full day and make their own travel arrangements to the farm. Lunch and water will be provided.

Please be aware that picking apples requires physical effort, including bending, reaching, and lifting. The ground is also quite uneven. It's important to be prepared for a full day of strenuous activity.
