Texas Children's Volunteers

The mission of the Volunteer Services department is to provide a rewarding experience for the volunteer while meeting the needs of the hospital's patients, families, and staff.

Each year caring volunteers answer questions and greet guests at the information desk, deliver toys to children, and play games with or read to patients. Volunteers also deliver a wide selection of craft kits and fun art supplies to patients.

Other Texas Children's volunteers help a child with homework, lead an art project, host a puppet show, open a playroom, deliver crafts or go on air with Radio Lollipop.

Texas Children's volunteers -- who range in age from 15 to more than 90 years old -- make a difference to children, their families and the hospital staff every day of the year. Volunteers make a commitment to volunteer at least once a week for a 2-3 hour shift for a minimum of 6 months.

In addition to offering many different volunteer placements, we have a number of different types of volunteers at Texas Children's. Each gives back to the hospital in a unique way, so please find the type of volunteer opportunity that's right for you.

If you are over the age of 18 and interested in volunteering at the hospital for a minimum of 6 months please visit our individual volunteer registration page.

If you are between the ages of 15 and 18 and interested in volunteering at the Hospital, please visit our teen volunteer registration page.
